BEYOND Sports Management is a boutique agency ran by Ellie Bethan Reynolds, current Football Business & Marketing student at UCFB Etihad. This blog features a short interview, detailing everything you need to know about the new agency.





(Q): How and why were you inspired to start a sports management agency?


(A): My dream of getting into the liaison business and opening up my own sports management agency, came from my love of organising; as I have always found the planning of an event every bit as enjoyable as the event itself. As a young girl I originally wanted to be in the events management industry and at 16 years old took on an internship with Qube Events & Productions, based in Bury. During my time at the business, I helped to plan and set up a range of events, as well as help to oversee everything was organised and ran smoothly. The internship was unpaid, however, I was happy to gain experience in the industry, learn many new skills and to understand the life of an event’s organiser. I had to stop the internship once I begun college to focus on my Business, English Literature and Psychology A-Levels and it is at college where I learnt about UCFB, a university that combined different studies with football. The thought of doing a football related degree was one that interested me very much, due to my passion for the sport. When learning about the role of a Player Liaison Officer I knew it was a job that not only would I really enjoy but I was perfectly suited for, due to it combing my love for football and organising. My family and friends like to joke that I’m like a PA for them, since I help to make their lives easier through the planning of the events, booking of holidays, organising itineraries, paying bills and so on, so I thought why not make it my profession.


(Q): What services will BEYOND Sports Management offer to clients?


(A): To start out with, BEYOND Sports Management is only a boutique agency, and therefore will offer an exclusive selection of services to clients and their families, to ensure the team can provide the highest level of service. The services we currently offer include Social Media, Lifestyle Management, Insurance, Media Management, Partnerships and Player Representation. Obviously as the business and team expands, we will in turn expand our services, however, at the minute I more than believe we are still able to offer clients a strong selection of services to help them manage their life off the playing field.


(Q): What do you think will encourage athletes to use your agency?


(A): Our ethos is that "the player comes first", and we pride ourselves on being completely transparent in everything we do. I think these are very important characteristics to have, especially in this business, as everything we do is in order to help our clients. I know some agencies, such as 'FullNinety', operate with the same structure, however I also know many agencies that don't; and this is a big risk when trying to encourage potential clients to work with you. I am hoping that athletes will feel encouraged to use BEYOND Sports Management because of this, as it shows they can put their trust in us and that we are going to go above and beyond to successfully provide what services they need.


(Q): What current campaigns are you working on?


(A): At the minute we're focusing on digital campaigns, trying to grow our presence on social media platforms - such as Instagram (@Beyondsportsmanagement_). One way we're looking to do this is through the use of our hashtag '#BEYONDsm', so keep an eye out for our blogs, as we will soon be explaining how people can get involved in using the hashtag.
